Much drug development and discovery requires massively parallel experimentation and analysis; much requiring human scientists to interpret the results. Advances in specialised sensor devices is allowing automated analysis using specialist detectors to remove much of this repetitious work and reduce development costs.

Microfluidics

During drug development, traditional testing can require sizeable test samples in order to carry out analysis. As many of these tests involve biological reactions, the volume of the sample impacts the analysis time. By using microfluid technology, the test samples are reduced in volume which can significantly reduce the testing time.
