Governing Board Members
We are seeking 3 dynamic and inspiring individuals to join the CENSIS Governing Board in Glasgow and play a strategic part in driving the future success of technology innovation and adoption by companies in Scotland.

Board appointments are for a two-year period and are not remunerated, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. Ideally, you will be used to working in a collegiate environment and have experience of successfully developing and implementing strategy, possibly via accountability for the performance of a large department or standalone organisation. You will also be analytical, with an international perspective and with considerable communication and influencing skills.

Academia Board Member x 1
You will be a senior academic from within the Scottish HEI community with an international reputation as a researcher active in a technically relevant area and experience of successful industry engagement.

Industry Board Members x 2
You will be an experienced industrialist, ideally from one of our initial focus sectors (see below).

CENSIS Background
CENSIS is the Scottish Innovation Centre for Sensor and Imaging Systems, founded in 2013 with funding from the Scottish Funding Council.  Hosted by the University of Glasgow, we are an industry-facing organisation and are now moving to our next phase of development.

CENSIS works with academia on industry defined problems, increasing technology inspired innovation, maturing new technologies and accelerating technical solutions to create sustainable economic value in the Scottish economy in the important and diverse domain of Sensor and Imaging Systems (SIS). As we move to our next phase we will utilise other cyber-physical technologies and their applications in the context of industrial digitalisation.

We have a proven track record of delivery, with a portfolio of nearly 100 projects with a total activity value of over £14.6m and a current GVA projection of over £100m. Our in-house engineering and project management staff are invaluable in defining and supporting collaborative R&D projects. You can have a look at the CENSIS team here.

Our knowledge of the technology and research landscape continues to grow and our developing strengths have helped us to break new ground and strengthen existing Scottish supply chains.

Our IoT Centre is a national asset widely used by our clients and we have led the creation of the UKs first LoRa™ network as a testbed in Glasgow.

CENSIS is based at The Inovo Building, George Street, Glasgow

The Governing Board, along with the Chairman and CEO, assumes overall responsibility for strategic direction and monitoring of performance against expectations of its funders and meets quarterly at the CENSIS office in Glasgow. We have benefited from a private sector-led Governing Board and outstanding executive team and have built a widely regarded UK-wide reputation for excellence.
