About the Awards
The IOP Innovation Awards celebrate companies that make the most of physics: companies whose focus on innovation has brought cutting-edge technology to the real world.
These Awards are the only ones to recognise companies in the UK and Ireland that have built success on the innovative application of physics. The prize for a winner of the IOP Innovation Award 2014 includes:
- presentation of the Awards trophy at a high-profile exhibition, where companies can showcase the winning innovation to an invited audience;
- support from the Institute’s communications team in showcasing a company’s achievements;
- use of the IOP Innovation Award winner logo on the winning company website and communications;
- prominent coverage on the IOP website and in the IOP’s member news publications.
The Awards are designed for companies of any size and from any sector operating in the UK or Ireland that have successfully addressed a commercial need using a physics-based innovation. This could come in the form of a product or process but it must involve the application of physics or physics expertise.
