What is a Smart City?

  • How will smart city technology help people living and working in the cities?
  • How can smart cities help the environment?
  • How will smart cities promote investment to Scotland’s seven cities?

The vision is to enable cities to become more liveable and resilient using data and digital technology. This will aid and facilitate delivery of city priorities through improved community engagement, integration of service delivery and innovation that smart city approaches can provide.

Dundee’s Smart City Programme

Join CENSIS and other speakers at this event organised by Dundee City Council to learn about the Smart Cities Scotland Programme in Dundee, with information on projects across four work streams.

  1. Open Data
  2. Public Safety
  3. Mobility
  4. Waste

The project would love your input and the event will be setup with opportunities to engage with the four projects. The day will also include talks from CENSIS and other organisations including:

  • Waracle, one of the UK’s leading mobile app development, IoT and digital consulting companies.
  • Urban Foresight, a strategy and innovation consultancy focused on the smart and sustainable transformation of cities working on the mobility project with Dundee City Council
  • Edinburgh City Council’s Digital Innovation team
