Technology Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow

The 5G RuralFirst project, led by Cisco alongside the University of Strathclyde and others including CENSIS, aims to create rural testbeds and trials for 5G wireless and mobile connectivity at three sites across the UK – Orkney, Somerset and Shropshire. Its ambition is to lay the foundations for the UK to become a smart country – not just a country that has smart cities.

About the Event

Join all of the players in the 5G RuralFirst project in Glasgow on 28 March as they come together to showcase the real-life experiences of the project to date, summarise key learnings and identify some of the key actions that will happen next to help improve rural connectivity.

The day will include talks, panel sessions and live demos focused on the key themes surrounding rural connectivity such as IoT and 5G, spectrum sharing and cost of deployment.

More details to be revealed over the coming months but for now please register your interest (you need to do this in order to receive an invite on the day) and make sure to save the date.
