Put the kettle on and join CENSIS staff (and sometimes a guest speaker) for a catch up over a virtual coffee, and keep up to date with IoT, cybersecurity, sensing and imaging technologies while our staff work from home during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Led by CENSIS team members Cade Wells and Rachael Wakefield, this virtual coffee break will explore the different ways IoT can impact the tourism sector. Cade and Rachael will be talking through some technology challenges, solutions and business opportunities, and highlighting some projects that have adopted IoT tech. Cade and Rachael can approach things from a a business as well as a practical engineering perspective – wherever the discussion takes them.

Tourism and hospitality management/monitoring is a potentially important market for IoT, and including everything from how visitors interact and make the most of their visits to key attractions. It could also mean making attractions accessible to wider audiences when they cannot be visited in person, ensuring the experience can be shared in the best possible way and to a wider number of users. Other benefits might include supporting a sustainability agenda and promoting sustainable tourism.

How can I join?

The event will take place online using Zoom. Please contact us by email if you’re interested and we’ll send you details of how to join in. You can join using audio or video, and you are very much encouraged to join in the conversation to add your own thoughts or ask questions.

In the first instance we plan to keep numbers down so that everyone can participate and ask questions, so don’t delay if you want to join us.
