Esri software is deployed in more than 350,000 organisations, including the world’s largest cities and most national governments. Its ArcGIS software helps transform data into maps and actionable information.

At its first virtual Scottish conference, Esri brings together some of Scotland’s key thought leaders to share their stories and insights on how they are leveraging geospatial data. Among the speakers on the day will be Stephen Milne, CENSIS Business Development Manager, presenting on a project CENSIS has supported in this space.

Attendance is free and open to all. On the day the event will allow delegates to explore the latest capabilities of the ArcGIS platform, hear about real life issues from others in the GIS Community and beyond, as well as gain insights from panel sessions of Esri experts.

Stephen’s talk: IoT – embracing a connected future to drive change and support our communities

IoT is a game-changer, allowing organisations to create new products and services or implement cost and time-saving efficiencies using data and insights gathered in real-time. The availability and low price of sensors, coupled with major leaps in data storage and computing capabilities, means that the time is right to embrace the major improvements, new opportunities and cost savings that IoT offers. This session will explore how it is easier than ever to use connected sensors and how GIS can be used to display data, relating the benefits of using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Hub, IoT, and data to communicate and support our communities, services, and partners.
